The VII International Film Festival for the Animals (Mostra Animal 2017) will be at the wonderful city. Rio de Janeiro is going to become the stage for the biggest cinema event of Brasil devoted to animals. Conceived in the year of 2009 at Curitiba (PR), it has since been successfuly held in several Brazilian states. Today it is one of the most relevant cinema events in the world, totally focused on the discussion of animal rights and the social and environmental impacts arising from the interaction between humans and nonhuman animals.

Films from Brazil and all over the world will present once more, through different approaches and languages, the several questions about the relations between human beings and other animals, aiming to develop in society a greater awareness regarding the subject, besides spreading the idea that there is, cientifically speaking, absolutely nothing in the human specie that gives us the right to exploit the other cohabitant animals of planet Earth.

Conceived by the Brazilian Vegetrian Society (SVB) - Curitiba Group, the Mostra Animal will take place on November 12th of 2017, from 12:30 pm to 9 pm. Anyone can put a camera in their hands and make a video addressing an aspect of how the interaction between humans and animals develops. In addition to amateur videos, the event will feature established films on the topic that have traveled the world.
