International Film Festival for the Animals

"MOSTRA ANIMAL"


1. THE EVENT

The International Film Festival for the Animals consists in the exhibition of films (short, medium and full-length) that address issues regarding the relationship between human beings and non-human animals in all its scope, according with the various points of view of the modern movement for animal respect.

2. GOALS

General:

  • Encourage respect and responsibility toward other animals.

 

Specific:

  • Gather animal-themed films and their several aspects and points of view;

  • Encourage the audio-visual production about topics that covers animal rights;
  • Create a discussion and reflection site about production and consumption related to non-human animal life;
  • Provide the audience with information about animal exploit and protection.

 

3. ORGANIZATION AND ADVERTISING

The International Film Festival for the Animals is organized by SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society, CNPJ number 05.852.939/0001-06, Ricardo Sérgio Parisi de Laurino, RG number 15219105-7 and Joselaine Seidel, RG number 9489646-0. The advertising of the main event and sub-events (Itinerant Film Festival for the Animals and Film Festival for the Animals - Kids) may take place by electronic means (Internet), as well as brochures, posters and banners.


3.1. PARTNERS

SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society – through its organizing members, Ricardo Sergio Parisi de Laurino e Joselaine Seidel, may transfer, as a partnership, the implementation of the International Film Festival for the Animals, in which the partner(s) must abide by all the clauses belonging to this document and its annexes.

4. AUDIENCE

The International Film Festival for Animal Rights, as well as the Itinerant Film Festival, expects to welcome youth and adults. For the Animal Film Festival - Kids, it is expected people ranging from 4 (four) to 12 (twelve) years old.

5. RELEASE OF THE FESTIVAL NEW EDITION

The release of a new edition of the International Film Festival for Animal Rights will always take place in the city of Curitiba – Paraná State, Brazil, which may be altered by authorization of the organizing members together with the SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society national management board.

5.1 EDITIONS OF SUB-EVENTS OF THE FESTIVAL

The release of sub-events of the International Film Festival, such as the Itinerant Film Festival and the Film Festival - Kids may take place anywhere in the country upon authorization of the organizing members together with the SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society management.


6. ENROLLMENT TERMS

Any films, videos or film clips, having any format and length, concerning directly or indirectly the theme of the Festival, may participate.


7. FILMS ENROLLMENT

7.1 The enrollment is free of charge and can be done by filling the enrollment form, available for download on the official website of the event, www.mostraanimal.com.br. The enrollment form may be modified if necessary and will be disclosed on the official website of the event.

7.2 Unintelligible or incomplete enrollment forms will not be accepted

7.3 Each film producer may enroll as many movies as he wants, as long as one enrollment form is used for each film.

7.4 For the selection, one must send two copies of the film on DVD along with the enrollment form, properly completed and signed. The following advertising and/or promotional virtual material (on CD or DVD) of the enrolled work:

1. Synopsis;
2. Full technical sheet;
3. Festival participations (if any);
4. Film awards (if any);
5. Advertising pictures in JPEG, having a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

7.5 The enrollment shall only be validated after receiving the material (two DVDs of the film + signed enrollment sheet + advertising material), which shall be sent to the address pointed out on the website or on the enrollment sheet, according to the due date determined by the event management.

7.6 The outlay and charges regarding the shipping of the selection material are sole responsibility of the sender. We recommend that no value is assigned to the DVDs since importation taxes in Brazil are around 60% and it may take a long time for customs procedures. We also recommend that the official mail company is used instead of other transportation companies, since the second option usually takes longer to get through customs as well.

7.7 The participants shall obey the official schedule that determines the opening and closing of enrollments for each edition, defined by SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society (Curitiba group), hence enrollments received after the closing shall be included in the selection process of the next edition. Likewise, those who are interested in taking part on future editions may enroll in advance on the official website of the Festival;

7.8 The films enrolled will authorize displays on any fully or partially repeated edition, as well as a selection of several editions, whether it takes place in Brazil or abroad, even if the Festival takes part on other art or cultural festivals and the like. Always being organized by SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society and/or partners.

8. SELECTION

8.1 The selection of the films and videos shall be done by a committee nominated by the event management.

8.2 The official result shall be notified by the e-mail specified on the enrollment form of movie and through the website of the Festival.

8.3 The list of the selected audiovisual films for the International Film Festival for the Animals and the full schedule will be advertised beforehand on the website www.mostraanimal.com.br.

9. OSCOW

The award entitled “OSCOW” does not have a competitive basis, it will, however, be given as a homage for the films choosen by the audience and organizers. The OSCOW award will only be part of the main event (International Film Festival for the Animals), no later than the first display of each edition.

10. GENERAL PROVISIONS

10.1 When enrolling for the International Film Festival for the Animals, the participant confirms to be aware of the following conditions:

  • The enrolled and selected work has authorization to be shown as part of the scheduled event. SVB – Curitiba Group does not take any responsibility on copyright related issues, on the usage of voice, picture, soundtrack or location of the enrolled work;
  • The participants transfer, automatically, the broadcasting rights of the selected films and videos for the advertising of the event to the International Film Festival for the Animals organizing board;
  • The sent copies of the films on DVD shall not be returned and will be part of the collection of the Festival, not being used for any commercial purposes;
  • The films may be displayed on any fully or partially repeated edition, as well as a selection of several editions, whether it takes place in Brazil or abroad, even if the Festival takes part on other art or cultural festivals and similar events. Always being organized by SVB – Brazilian Vegetarian Society and/or partners;

 

10.2 The event management may remove from the schedule, at any time, films or videos that do not abide by the rules in this contract.

10.3 Any missing issues in this document shall be resolved by the event management.
