International Film Festival for the Animals

  1. THE EVENT

The International Film Festival for the Animals consists of a screening of a selection of films (short, medium and full-length) that address issues regarding the relationship between human beings and non-human animals in all its scope, according to different viewpoints of the animal rights movement.

 

  1. GOALS

General:

  • Encourage respect and responsibility toward other animals.

Specific:

  • Gather animal-themed films and their several aspects and points of view;
  • Encourage the audio-visual production about topics that cover animal rights, by both amateur and professional participants;
  • To foster discussion and reflection upon the cultures of production and consumption of foods and byproducts derived from animals;
  • Provide the audience with information about animal exploitation and protection.

 

  1. ORGANIZATION AND ADVERTISING

The International Film Festival for the Animals is organized by SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society, CNPJ number 05.852.939/0001-06, Ricardo Sérgio Parisi de Laurino, RG number 15219105-7 and Patricia de Souza Marin, RG number 8468684-0. The advertising of the main event and sub-events (Itinerant Film Festival for the Animals and Film Festival for the Animals - Kids) may take place through digital means (social media) as well as brochures, posters and banners.

3.1. PARTNERS

SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society - through its organizing committee, Ricardo Sergio Parisi de Laurino and Patricia de Souza Marin, may transfer, as a partnership, the implementation of the International Film Festival for the Animals, in which the partner(s) must abide by all the clauses belonging to this document and its attachments.

 

  1. AUDIENCE

The International Film Festival for the Animals, as well as the Itinerant Film Festival, expects to welcome youth and adults.

For the Animal Film Festival - Kids, audiences ranging from 4 (four) to 12 (twelve) years of age are expected..

 

  1. RELEASE OF THE FESTIVAL NEW EDITION

The release of a new edition of the International Film Festival for the Animals will always take place in the city of Curitiba - Paraná State, Brazil, which may be altered by authorization of the organizing committee together with the SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society national event management board.

5.1 EDITIONS OF SUB-EVENTS OF THE FESTIVAL

The release of sub-events of the International Film Festival, such as the Itinerant Film Festival and the Film Festival - Kids may take place anywhere in the country upon authorization of the organizing committee together with the SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society management.

 

  1. ENROLLMENT TERMS

Any films, videos or film clips, having any format and length, concerning directly or indirectly the theme of the Festival, may participate.

 

  1. FILMS ENROLLMENT

7.1 The enrollment is free of charge and can be done by filling and submitting the Online Enrollment Form. The form may be modified if necessary and will be disclosed on the official website of the event.

7.2 Unintelligible or incomplete enrollment forms will not be accepted.

7.3 The Exhibition Authorization Document also needs to be downloaded, completed and signed, either digitally or physically (with a photo of the printed and signed document). The document can preferably be sent at the time of registration to the e-mail address indicated in item 7.9, simultaneously with filling out the Online Enrollment Form, or after confirmation of film selection by the curating committee for participation in the Film Festival (item 8 of this regulation) .

7.4 For the selection, besides submitting the Online Enrollment Form (item 7.1), one must send through e-mail (address in item 7.9) the film file in digital format for download, in MP4 or MKV (common digital codecs and containers). The following advertising and/or promotional virtual material of the enrolled work must be sent, preferably in PDF format (or JPG/PNG for photos):

  • Full technical sheet;
  • Advertising pictures in JPEG, having a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.
  • Currículo do proponente ou diretor (quando for profissional da área de cinema e/ou do campo audiovisual).

7.5 The enrollment will only be validated after the material is received (film file + Online Enrollment Form submitted + advertising material) in the e-mail address indicated on item 7.9 of this regulation or the enrollment form, according to the due date determined by the event management. the Exhibition Authorization Document can either be sent together or after selection confirmation.

7.6 The participants must obey the official schedule that determines the opening and closing of enrollments for each edition, defined by SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society (Curitiba Group), hence enrollments received after the closing must be included in the selection process of the next edition. Likewise, those who are interested in taking part in future editions may enroll in advance on the official website of the Festival.

7.7 Each film producer may enroll as many films as desired, as long as one enrollment form is used for each film.

7.8 The films enrolled will authorize displays on any fully or partially repeated edition, as well as a selection of several editions, whether it takes place in Brazil or abroad, even if the Festival takes part in other art or cultural festivals and the like. Always being organized by SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society and/or partners.

  1. SELECTION

8.1 The selection of the films and videos will be done by a curating committee nominated by the event management and according to the criteria in item 7 of this regulation.

8.2 The official result must be notified by the e-mail specified in the Online Enrollment Form of the film and through the website of the Festival.

8.3 The list of the selected audiovisual films for the International Film Festival for the Animals and the full schedule will be advertised beforehand on the website "www.mostraanimal.com.br".

 

  1. OSCOW

The award entitled “OSCOW” does not have a competitive basis. It will, however, be given as a tribute to the films chosen by the audience and organizers. The OSCOW award will only be part of the main event (International Film Festival for the Animals), no later than the first screening of each film in the event.

 

  1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

10.1 When enrolling in the International Film Festival for the Animals, the participant acknowledges the following rules:

  • The enrolled and selected work has authorization to be shown as part of the scheduled event. The SVB - Curitiba Group is not liable for copyright-related issues and for any other rights or licenses pertaining to soundtracks, location, human images and/or voices that are featured in each of the enrolled and selected films;
  • The participants transfer, automatically, the broadcasting rights of the selected films and videos for the advertising of the event to the International Film Festival for the Animals organizing committee;
  • The sent copies of the films on DVD must not be returned and will be part of the collection of the Festival, and will not be used for any commercial purposes;
  • The films may be displayed on any fully or partially repeated edition of the International Film Festival for the Animals, as well as a selection of several editions, whether it takes place in Brazil or abroad, even if the Festival becomes part of another art or cultural festivals and similar events, as long as it is organized by SVB - Brazilian Vegetarian Society and/or partners;

10.2 The event management may remove from the schedule, at any time, films or videos that do not abide by the rules in this contract.

10.3 Any matters not provided for herein will be resolved by the event committee.
